HR Internship at WFP
JOB PURPOSE
WFP’s greatest strength is; its dedicated people working tirelessly around the world to reduce hunger, often under difficult conditions where security threats and risks to personal safety are considerable. The organization is committed to transforming its HR function to a strategic business partner. To achieve this, a lot of new HR initiatives are launching and WFP is looking for outstanding HR interns to get involved and contribute to these exciting HR projects.
We are currently recruiting driven and independent students for an internship based in the Regional Bureau of Cairo (Egypt) to assist the HR team with a lot of stimulating new projects. As part of the HR team, this internship will contribute and assist in developing and coordinating world-class programs and solutions in diversified HR areas like employer branding, HR operations, onboarding, gender parity, people development, reward and recognition, and others.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
University student, preferably in Human Resources Management or/and with a great interest in Human Resources practices. (currently studying or graduated in the last 6 months)
Minimum Qualifications
Currently enrolled and have attended University courses in the last 12 months inclusive of having completed at least two years of undergraduate studies or have recently graduated in the last 6 months’ preferably in Human Resources Management or/and with a great interest for Human Resources practices.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Fluent in English and, ideally, in an additional UN language

نبذه عن برنامج الأغذية العالمي
برنامج الأغذية العالمي للأمم المتحدة (بالإنجليزية: World Food Programme) ويعرف اختصاراً WFP هو أكبر منظمة إنسانية في العالم لمكافحة الجوع. ويقدم البرنامج كل عام مساعدات غذائية إلى أكثر من 90 مليون شخص في أكثر من 70 بلداً حول العالم، وحصل البرنامج على جائزة نوبل للسلام لعام 2020.
نظرة عامة
كان من المقرر أن يبدأ برنامج الأغذية العالمي، الذي يتخذ من روما مقرا له، أعماله في عام 1963 لمدة ثلاث سنوات تجريبية. ولكن البرنامج اضطر إلي بدء أعماله قبل هذا العام بسبب تعرض إيران لزلزال مدمر في عام 1962 أعقبه بشهر اجتياح إعصار لتايلاند بالإضافة إلي عودة أكثر من خمسة ملايين لاجئ بعد إعلان استقلال الجزائر. وتطلبت هذه الأحداث تقديم مساعدات غذائية عاجلة من البرنامج الذي لم يتوقف عن العمل منذ ذلك التاريخ.
يقوم برنامج الأغذية العالمي، بوصفه وكالة الأمم المتحدة المعنية بمكافحة الجوع، بالاستجابة المستمرة لحالات الطوارئ. فهو يعمل على إنقاذ الأرواح عن طريق توفير الغذاء للجوعى والمستضعفين على نحو السرعة. كما يعمل البرنامج أيضاً على مساعدة الجوعى في تأمين الغذاء الكافي لهم في المستقبل. ويقوم بذلك من خلال مشروعات تستخدم الغذاء كوسيلة لبناء الأصول، ونشر المعرفة وتعزيز قدرات المجتمعات لتكون أقوى وتصل إلى مرحلة الاكتفاء الذاتي.
