1 – Planning & Costing Manager

About the job
Main Purpose
Provides analytical and financial planning support to EFB to help in the diagnosis of the risks and resolution of key issues, forecasts economic trends, improves understanding of EFB economics, and facilitates the development of short-term and long-term performance targets.

Also oversees the cost control systems, manages and interprets cost audits, and prepares cost accounting reports for presentation to leadership team.

Key player in the financial analysis team to ensure accuracy and performance opportunities related to Costing and Inventory, which is done through a detailed review and follow up on action, and evaluating acceptable cost of products as instructed from time to time.

Main Responsibilities
o Directly reports to Financial Director.

o Supports in business strategy development and execution:

  • Supervises the development of a detailed business plan for EFB
  • Facilitates the development of an effective business strategy by leading the financial and operational assessment of strategic options.
  • Coordinates the development of EFB capital and operating budget and financial targets.
  • Reviews current progress towards achievement of operating plans targets and supports the development of contingency plans and corrective actions.
  • Develops business analysis and provides timely financial data/insights for EFB CFO & CEO necessary for decision making. Analytical Support:
    Provides an accurate evaluation and analysis of current business results, opportunities and risks.
    Delivers value-added cross-functional planning support.
    Coordinates local capital expenditure evaluation process.
    Develops and communicates quarterly updates/outlooks

Coaching:
Builds analytical capability of planning staff
Costing:
Organizes, coordinates and manages the activities of the costing team.
Reviews and approves financial information related to costing during the month end closing and annual accounting close.
Ensures accounting and transactions approvals are in line with EFB’s policies.
Manages the day to day transactions that includes assurance of proper documentations flow and proper accounting treatments are in place (i.e. pricing, Inventory Stock Transactions).
Assists in organizing and analyzing accurate capital cost of expenditure as well as tracking of fixed assets.
Communicates and cooperates with the internal audit department and the external auditor to assess the control environment and measure the data integrity.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Finance/Accounting/economics degree from an accredited University. Preferably CMA holder.
At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar finance role
Analytical skills Proven experience in finance management
Familiarity with economics
Solid communication skills & cross functional interaction
Proven record in delivering against financial targets with knowledge of basic accounting policies and guidelines
Ability to manage under pressure & meet deadlines without compromising quality of deliverables
Good knowledge of local statutory laws/regulations, financial policies and procedures
Cost accounting and general accounting experience.

2 – Agriculture Officer

About the job
o Main Purpose

Advise farmers on improved methods of agriculture and agricultural work such as farm management, crop rotation, soil conservation, use of new machinery, marketing, coordinate and contribute to economic quantitative and qualitative analysis on a broad range of issues in relation to the project decision support tool and the analytical studies.

o Main Responsibilities

Collects and analyzes data related to land productivity, crop yield and financial reports to measure performance.
Researches and keeps up to date with any relevant developments in agriculture particularly smart agriculture methods and techniques.
Advises on how to improve the soil, use of fertilizers, weedkillers or other materials used on farms and advising on the best types of seeds to use.
Support in developing program design related to agriculture empowerment and rural development.
Develops and maintains close relations with government officials and key stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
Develops and strengthens technical networks relevant to sustainable cropping systems, and participates in outreach events such as webinars, workshops and conferences with strategic partners (academic/research institutions and centers of excellence, national, regional and sub-regional institutions, organizations and bilateral assistance agencies).
Provides technical advice and guidance to key external partners to advance our understanding of agriculture led economic growth capacities and measurement in order to improve development outcomes.
Plans, organizes and participates in technical meetings, conferences, seminars, intergovernmental discussions to promote practices and policies for sustainable crop production.

o Qualifications and Education Requirements

5-7 years of relevant experience in the agriculture centers (NGOs, government, private sector, research institutions).
Communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, with clients, colleagues and members of the public.
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture.
Strong knowledge of crop and plant science, environmental science, horticulture, and soil science.
Expertise in monitoring and evaluation of agriculture activities to improve data collection and analysis along with reporting preferred.
Demonstrated ability to provide capacity building within teams and/or with government partners such as ministries and NGOs so that the team is better able to achieve agriculture results.
Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical and negotiating skills.
Excellent command of English & Arabic and writing skill in both languages
