Research Analyst
About the job
Purpose:
Assist in monitoring the company’s activities and its employees to ensure adherence to the relevant local and international rules and regulations, AML and Sanctions programs and EFG Polices (PEP Policy, Sanctions Policy, AML Group and Segment Policy, Staff Dealing Policy, etc.).
Responsibilities:
- Collect data from a wide range of sources (news, company reports, industry etc.) to conduct due diligence on companies in the assigned sector, with some guidance.
- Oversee the drafting, editing and distributing of daily regional news.
- Update valuation tables and models for companies in the sector and conduct financial analysis (DCF, SoTP, multiple analysis and etc.).
- Write and publish company and sector reports with detailed reviews on the financial outlook of the companies, their competitive positioning within the sector and investment case.
- Identify themes and trends that impact overall industry dynamics, including emerging technologies, regulatory changes, accounting issues, supply/demand balance and other macroeconomic factors.
- Liaise with clients to provide investment ideas and recommendations, via e-mail, written notes, telephone calls, meetings, presentations, road-shows, etc. Initiate and organize non-deal road shows; organize company visits to clients and accompany them.
- Work towards achieving external rankings from annual research surveys and recognition by internal sales and clients for one’s value added to the periodic reviews.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or Accounting.
- A of minimum 4 years’ experience (AVP) or a minimum of 6 years’ experience (Vice President ) in equity research, asset management, private equity and/or investment banking
- Postgraduate degree or relevant designation such as CFA, MBA, etc. is a plus.
- Advanced analytical and modeling skills.
- Excellent writing skills.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to build partnerships and work well in teams, especially in a start-up environment.
- Can identify problems and refer/escalate complex issues to a higher level.
- Ensure deliverables are always of a high quality.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic, creative and resourceful independent thinker.
- Detail oriented; works with a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Flexibility in handling of new tasks.
- Multi-tasker, with the ability to meet changing deadlines.
- Manage pressure and conflicting demands and priorities tasks and workload.
Any other tasks required within the general scope of the department.
